About Us

Honey Creek Farm is a 50-acre farm established in 2011 by Dan and Laura Pugh. We raise sheep and chickens and sell freshly prepared food at the Columbia Farmers Market.

Our first day at the farmers market in 2012. We had 13 bags of lettuce, a few bags of spinach, two bags of beet greens and a couple dozen eggs.

We are late bloomers who grew up in the suburbs of Kansas City but decided we should become farmers in our late 40’s. We bought 50 acres at a land auction in 2010 and started selling vegetables at Columbia Farmers Market in the spring of 2012.

Dan grew up cooking with his mom and always enjoyed trying new recipes and adding his own spin on common dishes. His ultimate dream included making affordable, healthy food for people. So in 2016, we expanded the business to include Fresh Harvest Grill. Now Dan takes his mad cooking skills to the farmers market and local businesses around Columbia.

Fresh Harvest Grill meals include meat from our farm and some of the veggies we grow. Whenever possible, we use ingredients purchased from local farmers. We regularly buy a variety of vegetables, beef, pork, and eggs from our fellow market vendors.
